  • Guided photo walks include expert location guidance, help with composition and camera settings, and safe navigation across Dartmoor’s terrain. Each walk is tailored to your experience level and interests, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer.

  • No experience is required. Beginners are more than welcome, and sessions are completely adapted to your skill level. More advanced photographers can focus on creative techniques, composition, etc. Or choose what you’d like to concentrate upon.

  • A camera (any type - even your phone), waterproofs and warm clothing, sturdy footwear, water, food and an open mind. All these things will be discussed before meeting up.

  • Most walks are accessible to anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. As a fully qualified Hill & Moorland Leader, I tailor routes to your ability and ensure all walks are safe, enjoyable, and appropriate for the conditions. I’ve walked with people with various conditions and always make sure that your comfort is upmost in my plans.

  • Yes. One‑to‑one tuition is available for photographers who want focused guidance on technique, composition, or creative development. These sessions can be combined with a guided walk for a more immersive experience.

  • Yes. I offer creative, atmospheric portrait sessions inspired by Dartmoor’s landscape, mythology, and personality. These shoots are ideal for individuals, couples, artists, and anyone wanting unique portraits in a dramatic natural setting. I’m also happy to shoot elsewhere, closer to your home or at a special personal place.

  • Dartmoor’s weather is part of its character, and moody conditions often create the most atmospheric images. However, if conditions become unsafe or unsuitable, we can reschedule at a mutually agreeable time.

  • Yes. A selection of fine art prints is available in my shop. Prints are produced by professional print houses using archival materials and are available in multiple sizes. If you see an image on my website or my social media and would like a print, feel free to get in touch 😍

  • How long is a piece of string? Most Portrait sessions last between 1–2 hours, though it totally depends upon the package you choose. Guided Walks can last up to 8 hours or longer depending where and what you’d like to see πŸ“·

  • Of course. With extensive local knowledge and professional navigation training, I can guide you to locations that match your interests. If I’m unfamiliar with an area or unaware of appropriate locations, I have a network of other Dartmoor Guides who I can ask for advice, or pass your details on to.
