My YouTube Channel
Update : Not really added anything worthwhile to my YouTube Channel in a long time as life just keeps getting in the way! If somebody would like to commission some work and give me a big wedge of cash, I might be able to find the time to add more stuff 🤣
After much prompting I have succumbed to peer pressure, and started my own You Tube Channel
It's hardly ground-breaking stuff, and so far (although I have plenty of footage) I have some intense editing to do before I feel what I have can be 'consumed' with any degree of satisfaction (on either side).
My first ever video is merely a kind of tableau of my photographic process.
As I'm learning as I go along, there is no real rhyme or reason to it ... I just document what I do when I take photographs and how I try to 'read' a scene.
On a beautiful sunny evening in April, I wandered the incredibly strenuous 400 metres to the edge of the local wood with my camera, my tripod, a bin bag (to lie on) and very little idea of what I was doing!
Once there, I setup my tripod, and did a 'piece to camera' (yes, I am totally au fait with the lingo) ... unfortunately, I'm not as equally good with remembering to turn off my microphone after it's last use and consequently I have quite a bit of footage of me miming 🤣
I have some wonderfully evocatively lit footage of my (handsome, ahem) visage, where you can hear absolutely nothing!
First lesson learnt!
After that little glitch I got to work on editing my masterpiece, fast developing a growing admiration for people who make movies of any description.
With 'connecting' scenes now missing from my grand scheme (and no desire to try and shoot again ... I'm a photographer, not a film maker!) I looked for footage that I could use, that fitted with some of the images I'd taken and made a kind of coherent sense once I put a little voiceover in place.
