Pretty Rose - Still Life
Woke up to find a wonderful rose photograph on my Twitter Feed, and remembered that I'd been rather impressed with the rose we had in our living room, a rose from the bush I'd bought for my partner for her previous birthday.
Had the thought that I'm always saying being creative and open minded means I can produce way more interesting results than most.
Took me about 30 minutes to setup and shoot my photographs, grabbing a few bits and bobs from around the house (the ring light was a bonus, but I reckon you could do something similar with a table lamp and something to diffuse the light).
Started off just shooting the rose in a jar, but soon realised the black cardboard I'd laid on the floor, gave way better contrast, so wrapped a piece of cardboard tubing in the arm of a black dress I have in my 'props box' and underexposed a bit to get some really harsh black.
From start to finish, I had some wonderful images in just over an hour.
Still, it's a learning process!
I'm fairly happy with the results, some rather colourful happiness right there. There are few things I'd like to do differently next time, and I'm sure my blogging/vlogging leaves a lot to be desired, so feel free to ask me anything I didn't cover properly!
