Why you should buy a print 😁

Or, “Is there a calendar this year?”

First off, contrary to what many people have said to me, I’m not at all “down” on my work.

I’m not the best photographer in the world, equally I’m not the worst.

I like what I do and I hope other people do.

I’m not at all precious about my work.

Creativity is something that feeds my soul and if it could put a little cake or two in my belly as well, great!

No matter what I have attempted in order to promote my work, what it generally comes down to is I don’t have an unlimited supply of money to pay for people to see it, and equally I’ve never been part of the right crowd.

I take photographs because I enjoy the outdoors and the process of attempting to render at least some of what I see in my mind’s eye.

I have no hidden agenda nor desire to influence people in any way.

I take photographs of the things that interest me and not just what seems to be in fashion at any given time.

If this makes me unpopular, or means my demographic is somewhat limited, so be it.

I tend to shy away from any aspect of self promotion which doesn’t solely laud my work and my work alone.

I’m well aware of the numerous marketing strategies to appeal to the masses.

I don’t begrudge people who feel they should or can don whatever hat fits to forward their cause, I just don’t feel comfortable doing that myself.

My prints are very reasonably priced, they’re carefully costed somewhere in between the price ranges of photographers whose work I can appreciate.

Photography is a very subjective practice; however objectively I need to be making more money from my photographs 🤣

I once made a real effort to produce reasonably priced works and purchases were rather disappointing.

So, in conclusion, I’m infinitely better off selling no prints at a price that makes it worthwhile me making an effort, than a handful at a price which necessitates a lot of hassle and little return🤣

Also, there’s no calendar this year 🤣
